Oracle 11g Anti-Hackers Cookbook

As I mentioned in my earlier post, PACKT Publishing had sent me a copy of the Oracle 11g Anti-Hacker's Cookbook for review.

I like the book as an introduction to the various techniques that can be used to protect Oracle data at different levels. Adrian Neagu begins with Operating System and Network security.  He shows examples of how to simulate hack attempts and how to protect against them.  He then goes into Oracle security options, including Encryption, VPD and Label Security.  He also covers Authentication and Auditng.

Through the book he provides sample code that shows how these features in Oracle can be used to protect the data and/or detect attempts to access data.

I would recommend the book to any DBA interested in an introduction to security options in Oracle.
